The IFFTI Research Committee serves as the guiding force behind elevating research standards within the International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes (IFFTI). It oversees the enhancement of research paper presentations and stands committed to advancing research excellence within the fashion and technology domain.

Our initiatives focus on fostering collaboration and insights exchange among members, with a keen eye on adapting to changing times. Some of our key initiatives include:

Recognize the evolving landscape of research within the fashion domain, with a focus on culture and design.
Establish IFFTI as a leading authority on research in Design and Culture.
Develop guidelines and frameworks to steer institutions towards conducting more layered research in alignment with IFFTI’s vision.

Host a dedicated research workshop during each IFFTI Annual Conference.
Ensure continuity by revisiting past research themes and introducing new ones to stimulate scholarly discourse.
Provide developmental sessions to assist researchers in refining their work and exploring emerging trends.
Organize yearly regional workshops.

Create a robust network for the supervision and mentorship of graduate students, in particular PhD students, pursuing research in fashion and related fields
Facilitate collaborations between students, academics, and industry professionals to foster research excellence.

We are committed to driving positive change and innovation in fashion education, and we invite expressions of interest from IFFTI Member Institution faculty eager to contribute to our mission.
